Something noticeably absent? It’s the crane! The construction crane is finally gone. Hopefully that means the renovations are nearly complete and the guesthouse at St. Sixtus Abbey might be open sometime before we leave Europe. It’s been closed since Sept 2007. At one point it was supposed to re-open in 2010.
We were here Mon March 7 picking up one case of Westy 12. I know, hardly worth the drive. If we hadn’t already been most of the way there for Zythos weekend, we wouldn’t have bothered. (It was, however, the easiest call in ever. I got a reservation within 11 minutes in 51 attempts.)
We’ve been here a kajillon times; I should really dig up and put ALL the pics together in a gallery. Behind the abbey there’s a nice walking trail with the stations of the cross at the end.
